The CO-OP wind farm in Denmark consists of 61 wind turbines (WT), with an installed capacity of 296 MW (turbines powered), generating wind power from seven to 23 MW capacity turbines (turbine rated), in total 682 MW.
The turbines were installed between 2013 and 2014.
The selected site is located close to the Danish/German border and on the German side there is the only deep-sea cable connection to the European network.
The selected area has good wind conditions with a yearly mean wind speed of 4.6 m/s with dominant winds coming from the North-east (German wind direction).
A detailed site survey and design was performed in preparation for the construction of the wind farm. Planning was undertaken by PWS Denmark (PWS), comprising the multiple stage safety assessment, the technical and economic assessment, planning and construction management.
The CO-OP wind farm has, at the time of the study, an installed capacity of 296 MW and an expected lifetime of 35 years. The effective period of the CO-OP wind farm is 35 years, with a total reserve period of 35 years.
