GIMP

The _GIMP_ (GNU Image Manipulation Program) is an open source program based on the open source design of Photoshop. GIMP is a fairly easy-to-learn and extensive program for image manipulation and can be used for image creation and retouching. The GIMP comes with preinstalled brushes as well as tools for changing and manipulating color, images, and shapes.

As mentioned above, people use Photoshop to create new images, add filters, remove objects, resize or crop images, and edit existing images in order to improve and change the look of that image.

Like many other photographers, web designers, graphic designers and even video editors, I use Photoshop for many different reasons. Sometimes I use it to create images for my own website or even to add my own memes to their original photos.

At other times, I use it to edit their images, add new content or to create memes. Below are some Photoshop hacks that I use often to edit images, create memes and share them with others.

Resize images to smaller sizes

If you create your memes in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements, then you’ll notice that the images are usually 1000×1000 pixels, which is the size of the normal Photoshop canvas and it’s not very tiny for Instagram.

If you want to post your memes or photos to other websites without losing quality, you should resize your images. You can use Photoshop or Photoshop Elements for this.

In Photoshop, select File > Image > Image Size, choose the size you need, fill the width and height boxes, and click the button below to resize.

In Photoshop Elements, you can also select Image > Resize or More Tools > Image Size. This brings you to the same screen where you can resize images.

You can also use a website like TinyPNG to resize images.

Edit images to look better

Sometimes you may want to edit an image to make it look better. For example, you may want to add a grid to your meme or want to remove a filter from an image.

In Photoshop, you can:

Click on the grid icon (of any size) on the main toolbar, or press and hold the Ctrl (control) key and drag to make a grid.

In Photoshop Elements, click on the grid icon at the top-right corner and select Show Grid.

Click on the layer icon in the top bar to select the grid, then press the Delete key.

To remove a filter from your image, you can remove it by clicking on the button without any filter (or removing it manually if you prefer) and then pressing Enter.

To remove a layer, which is often used to add a filter, click on the layer

Q:

Should I use setText() on a TextView before calling setSelected(), onClick(), or both?

I’m wondering about the proper use of TextView methods in Android programming. The documentation states:

Important: For a given TextView instance, only one of setText() and setSelected(int) will be called, at most once per Activity lifecycle.

If I set the TextView text in the OnCreate() method of an Activity, should I include setSelected()? Or would it be ok to do that in an OnClick() method?
I’m specifically talking about instances of the Activity class. But is it ok to call setText() inside an Adapter class?

A:

The answer depends on the situation.
Android recommends use the first way, but if you want some more control over the state, you can use setSelected(int) directly.
For the second question, I don’t think you need to set a default value for your selected item. From my point of view, you can check the state in onCreate() and the user will be asked if the position is selected. And in onResume() and onPause() you can reset the state to the default value.
I recommend you to read the selected() method reference.
So, it depends on your situation, use what you need.
Also you can have set the clicked Item/position by using the onItemClick() method as a click listener.

Q:

When a path in a dynamic linked library is reached, the function is not found?

I have a dynamic linked library and a simple application, which I am working with. This is my dynamic linked library (libmenu_d.so):
#include
#include

void foo();

void foo(){
printf(«hello world»);
}

When my app calls:
dlopen(«libmenu_d.so», RTLD_LAZY);
foo();

the program dies, presumably because foo() is not found within the loaded library.
However, if I instead call:
foo();

the program immediately prints «hello world». Why is the foo() not resolved within the loaded library?

A:

In your case, the foo function is statically linked to the application, and you call

Q:

mapStateToProps – This value is disconnected from props

I’m having the issue of the «This value is disconnected from props». My goal is to have some text shown on the screen when the isLoggedIn state is true. I can use the props perfectly and I can see that my value is perfectly set to isLoggedIn, but when the second function getUserName() is run, it throws the issue I’m having.
My code looks like this
class AuthPage extends Component {

constructor(props) {
super(props);
this.state = {
isLoggedIn: true,
userName: »,
};
}

isLoggedIn = () => {
const { isLoggedIn } = this.props;
if (isLoggedIn) {
this.setState({
userName: »,
});
}
};

getUserName = () => {
const { userName } = this.props;
console.log(‘The values are true and this’);
console.log(userName);
};

My input is straight forward

I am in the understanding that I can’t have an entirely functional stateless component. I am planning to have the AuthenticatedMessage component that would have some information to be shown to the user. I would really appreciate your help in finding a solution for this issue.
Thank you!

A:

You must either pass through props all variables needed to read the state or set them to static by some ‘context’. This is necessary because even if your variable is in state, it doesn’t mean that the component will re-render when that variable change.
See this very good explanation
Hope that helps.
